Uit een nieuw Brits rapport blijkt dat 37% van de jongeren tussen de 16 en 30 jaar zich zorgen maakt dat ze niet over de digitale vaardigheden beschikken die nodig zijn om een toekomstige baan te vinden, terwijl 41% zegt niet eens te weten welke digitale vaardigheden het belangrijkst zijn. Ondanks dat ze opgroeien met smartphones en sociale media, worstelen veel tieners nog steeds met basisvaardigheden op digitaal gebied – zoals het beoordelen van online content, het gebruiken van productiviteitstools of het begrijpen hoe AI werkt. Deze kloof in digitaal zelfvertrouwen dreigt duizenden jongeren achter te laten in een economie waar bijna elk beroep een zekere mate van digitale kennis vereist. Experts benadrukken de noodzaak van gestructureerde, inclusieve digitale onderwijsprogramma's – die al vanaf de basisschool beginnen!
